Wolverine of the X-men: POGI Icon

Wolverine of the X-men: POGI Icon

Wolverine: POGI Icon

Wolverine might be best known as an over 6" tall, Hugh Jackman-looking and Jean Grey-obsessed bad-ass because of the movies. But in the comic books, he is 5'3" in height, weighs 300 lbs (in account of that adamantium skeleton), hairy canuck, still Jean Grey-obsessed and whose catchphrase is "I am the best there is at what I do. But what I do isn't very nice."

Almost everybody knows that has this healing factor that instantly heals any wound or illness he gets. Short of decapitating his head, Wolverine could possibly outlive most of his contemporaries. But did you know that when he was a kid in the 1800s, he was a sickly boy called James Howlett (weak compared to the Logan monicker)? Only when he did develop his mutant powers did he become the bad-ass anti-hero we know.

He is also the man's man - shacking it up with the likes of Mystique, Storm and many, many more. Check out this link to see how much of Whore-verine is Logan.

It might be best to forget the atrocity of a movie called Wolverine: Origins, but if you want to really want to get to know about the man-inside-the-beast, you should check out the following collections.

Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller
Wolverine: Weapon X by Barry Windsor-Smith
Wolverine: Origin by Paul Jenkins, Joe Quesada, Bill Jemas & Andy Kubert
